The Jim Thorpe Post Office announced yesterday the appointment of William W. Hiller, 241 West Broadway, Jim Thorpe, as the new assistant postmaster. He was named following the retirement of Charles M. McGee.

A graduate of Jim Thorpe High School and a veteran with 3-1/2 years with the U.S. Air Force during World War II, he joined the Postal Service as a substitute mail carrier in 1948 and was named a regular carrier in 1953.

Hiller is married to the former Rita Ross and they are the parents of three children, Donna, George and Thomas.
