The Polk Township and West End fire companies were dispatched to a dwelling fire Sunday afternoon in Chestnuthill Township.

The fire was reported around 1 p.m. at 514 Fairgrounds Road. Firefighters found smoke in the attic of the two- and one-half story single family wood frame dwelling. The smoke was believed to be emanating from between a second-floor room ceiling and the attic floor.

The first responders were on scene for an hour. No injuries were reported in the incident. Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway.
