Blue Ridge distributes blankets to the community

Blue Ridge Cable distributed over 1,000 new blankets throughout the community it serves as part of its 2022 Spread the Warmth initiative.

In November, Blue Ridge pledged to donate a new blanket to a child, family, or animal shelter in need for every customer who added or upgraded to its fastest internet speed.

With the assistance of many nonprofit organizations, Blue Ridge fulfilled its pledge to Spread the Warmth to those within the community who needed it the most this winter season.

“With nearly half of our community still struggling financially, strong collaborations help maximize our impact and get essential winter items to people in need. The Spread the Warmth initiative is just one example of how Blue Ridge gives back to the local community. We are grateful for this partnership and for the generosity that Blue Ridge has shown to our United Way and local nonprofits,” said Gina Nichols, assistant director, Family Stability of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

“Supporting the communities we serve throughout the year with initiatives like Spread the Warmth is part of who we are,” said Mark Masenheimer, vice president of operations for Blue Ridge. “United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley is just one of many great local organizations we collaborated with to get these warm, new blankets into the hands of those who needed them the most this winter. We would like to thank all of our customers and community partners who helped make this initiative a great success.”
