Lower Towamensing Township supervisors held their reorganization meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
Brent Green remained the chairman of the supervisors, and Connie Brown accepted the nomination to be the vice chairman.
Green said there was a recommendation to reappoint all nonelected township officials. Among them are:
• Township solicitor - James Nanovic;
• Zoning Hearing Board’s solicitor - Holly Heintzelman;
• Township engineer and sewage enforcement officer - Hanover Engineering Associates Inc.
• Conflict engineer - Keystone Consulting Engineering
• Sanitary engineer - ARRO Consulting Engineering
• Zoning officer and building code official - Duane Dellecker
• Agencies for UCC reviews and inspections - Barry Isett and Associates
• Emergency management coordinator - Rory Kuhns
• Tax collection committee delegate - Jennifer Kelly, primary, and Brent Green, alternate
Also on the agenda, the township is also going to stay with Mauch Chunk Trust as the depository for township funds and PLGIT (Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust). The supervisors approved having the mileage reimbursement rate will follow the IRS rate for 2023. And Supervisor Connie Brown agreed to be the delegate to the state convention.
As far as the township’s sewage enforcement officer, Green said the township is not going to keep Scott Bieber, owner of Lehigh Soils and Wetlands Inc., as the primary SEO. A primary has not been selected.
The meetings will continue to be the second Tuesday of each month. The next meeting is on Feb. 7.
