Department you work in: Radiology

How long have you worked there: I have been a colleague of LVHN for 4-and-a- half years. I have been lucky enough to gain experience and knowledge as a student during my clinical rotations at LVHN and eventually became a colleague. I have gained experience and had the pleasure to work at LVHN’s Hazleton, Pottsville, and Carbon campuses.

Background/Education: Lackawanna College Associates of Science Degree and Clarion University Bachelor of Science Degree. Ultrasound credentials: ARDMS and RVT certified.

Family: Recently married to my husband Mike. We have two dogs (Zoey and Echo). We enjoy going to different sporting events, traveling, walking our dogs, and spending time with our friends and family.

Why you like your job: Working as a sonographer provides me with new challenges every day. I get to perform a wide variety of exams to aid our radiologists in diagnosing patients and help patients to get the quality care they need. I love getting to work alongside such incredible colleagues who truly love what they do. Providing patients with quality care and helping them to receive answers about their health is what I find most rewarding.

Challenges/proud moments of your job: I enjoy teaching students about sonography. I am lucky enough to have students who do clinic rotations with me and get to improve their scanning techniques and learn all about quality patient care. Watching students grow into competent and confident technologist is very fulfilling and makes me feel proud to be part of their journey to become a certified technologist.
