Kunkletown firefighter seriously injured on Christmas Eve call

On Christmas Eve, Kyle Frable, a 30-year volunteer fireman for Kunkletown Fire Company, was attending candlelight church services when the fire call to respond to a house fire came in. Just as he had done so many times, he left the church services in the call of duty.

“We received the call that any first responder family fears on Christmas Eve or at any time,” said Karena Thek, Frable’s sister.

Unfortunately, Frable suffered serious injuries from a fire hose that bucked back and took him down, resulting in multiple pelvic fractures. Frable is still in severe pain and has a long recovery ahead, including multiple physical therapy sessions, according to his sister.

Frable will be unable to work his full-time job for many months while he recovers, his sister said.

A GoFundMe page has been organized by Kacie Sheridan for anyone who would like to help Frable with his medical costs and funds to help him bridge the gap while he is out of work.
