Senior Center

The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced upcoming events until Jan. 13.

New Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 30 at 10:30 a.m.

Center closed on Jan. 2; Bingo on Jan. 3 at 10:45 a.m.; Games on Jan. 4 at 10:30 a.m.; Po-Keeno on Jan. 5 at 11 a.m.; Minute to Win It on Jan. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

Cards, Pool, Games, available daily. New members welcome. For more information or to sign up, call the center Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 570-669-9930.

Hometown Heroes

The Nesquehoning Veterans Banner program is now open for 2023.

If you would like to purchase a banner, applications are available at the VFW Post Home at 300 E. Center St.

Also if you purchased a banner to be displayed in 2020, 2021 or 2022, renewal applications were mailed to the sponsor of the banner and the retired banner may be picked up at the post home. The deadline to purchase a new banner or renewal is Jan. 13, 2023.

Summit Hill tax collector

Nathan R. Halenar, Summit Hill Borough tax collector, reminds taxpayers that all current tax bills for this year are due by Dec. 31. All borough, county, and school bills are due.

The bills are currently being collected in the penalty phase. The tax office will be open with regular hours on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m.-noon.

On Dec. 29 the office will close at 6 p.m. Direct any questions or concerns to the office via summithilltaxcollector@gmail.com.
