Jim Thorpe posted victories in both boys and girls basketball on Wednesday night.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Jim Thorpe-No. Lehigh

In the consolation game of the Slatington Rotary Tournament, Jim Thorpe defeated host Northern Lehigh, 43-19.

Noah Rosahac and Kaiden Herron led the Olympians with 11 points apiece.

Connor Simms topped the Bulldogs with seven points.

Jim Thorpe improves to 4-6 on the season, while Northern Lehigh remains winless at 0-10.

Weatherly at CMVT Tourney

Weatherly-Canton

Weatherly made it to the Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Tournament championship game, but Canton spoiled the Wreckers’ chance for a title with a 55-34 win.

Weston Belkows had a game-high 16 points to lead the Warriors.

Ian McLaurin and Ian McKeegan led Weatherly with 14 and eight points, respectively.

Weatherly-CMVT

Weatherly advanced to the championship game with a 75-62 semifinal win over host Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech on Tuesday.

Five players hit double figures for the Wreckers, who won their first game of the season. Niko Saldukas tallied 18 points to lead the way, while Ian McLaurin (15 points), Jordan Mitchell (12), Jacob Parker (10) and Ian McKeegan (10) also had big games.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Jim Thorpe rolled to a 50-29 non-league victory over Shenandoah Valley.

Mackenzie Yuhas got the Olympians off on the right foot with a solid opening quarter as she scored 10 of her game-high 17 points in the first eight minutes. Haley Smelas and Gabrielle Cinicola chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the winners.

Maddie Wasser paced the Blue Devils with nine points.

Jim Thorpe improves to 5-2 on the season, while Shenandoah slips to 4-5.
