Senior Center

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Dec. 26-30 is:

Monday: Center closed

Tuesday: Beef patty with gravy, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, rice pudding or Mediterranean salad

Wednesday: Honey mustard chicken, rice pilaf, cauliflower and peas, peaches or deli sandwich

Thursday: Meatball hoagie, potato wedges, broccoli, pound cake or turkey Cobb salad

Friday: Pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce or turkey pita

The center has also announced upcoming events until Jan. 13.

Movie and Popcorn, Dec. 23 at 10 a.m.

Center closed on Dec. 26; Bingo on Dec. 27 at 10:45 a.m.; Scattergories on Dec. 28 at 11 a.m.; Party Prep and Games on Dec. 29 at 10 a.m.; New Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 30 at 10:30 a.m.

Center closed on Jan. 2; Bingo on Jan. 3 at 10:45 a.m.; Games on Jan. 4 at 10:30 a.m.; Po-Keeno on Jan. 5 at 11 a.m.; Minute to Win It on Jan. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

Hometown Heroes

The Nesquehoning Veterans Banner program is now open for 2023.

If you would like to purchase a banner, applications are available at the VFW Post Home at 300 E. Center St.

Also if you purchased a banner to be displayed in 2020, 2021 or 2022, renewal applications were mailed to the sponsor of the banner and the retired banner may be picked up at the post home. The deadline to purchase a new banner or renewal is Jan. 13, 2023. If you have any questions, call the post home at 570-669-9201 after 1 p.m., or Mary Arieta at 570-669-9350.
