PLEASANT VALLEY PERSONNEL

The Pleasant Valley school board unanimously approved appointing Chief of Police Lynn Courtright as school safety and security coordinator during its recent meeting.

The following personnel items also were approved:

• Change to current assignment - Amber Brown, from substitute teacher to second grade teacher, PVES, $46,467 prorated;

• Hiring of professional staff - Brenda Mackey, art teacher, PVIS, $46,467 prorated;

• Hiring of professional staff - long-term substitute - Ashley Dillon, kindergarten, PVE, $46,467 prorated;

• Hiring of professional staff substitutes - Lynzi Binder;

• Hiring of support staff - Darlene Arfken, monitor, PVHS, $10.97 per hour; and Gerald Wollett, custodian, $18.29 an hour;

• Retirement - Robert Petit-Clair, learning support teacher, PVMS, effective Dec. 15; and Melissa Ruschak, business teacher, PVHS, Feb. 3;

• Professional staff building change - Maria Chapman, special education teacher at PVIS to PVMS, replacing Robert Petit-Clair;

• Supplemental contracts: athletic - Steve Caffrey, girls softball, $7,150; Toni Bush, girls lacrosse, $7,150; Mark Allison, boys tennis, $5,450; and Robert VanDerheyden, boys lacrosse, $6,200, all varsity head coaches; and Hope Christman, girls basketball, junior high assistant, $3,500;

• Support staff building change - Doreen Dunlap, secretary at PVHS to PVMS;

• Change to current assignment - Jodi Swanson, substitute monitor and substitute secretary to secretary, PVIS, $31,986, effective Jan. 3, 2023; and Taylor Merklin, substitute teacher to special education teacher at PVIS, $46,467 prorated;

• Hiring of teachers for Learning Recovery Opportunity - PVES: Lalena Cordova and Jessica Martin; and PVIS: Nick Farkas, Laurie Koonce and Alison Kutzler, and;

• Intramural advisers - Drew Davis, track, PVHS; and Bob Vanderheyden, boys lacrosse, PVHS/PVMS.
