Summit Hill Police Chief Todd Woodward released details of four incidents that were handled by police in his department, resulting in two DUI arrests, drug charges and a disorderly conduct case.

• One of the DUI cases dates back to June 15 when at 12:18 a.m., police observed a Chrysler PT Cruiser traveling near the intersection of Lehigh and Chestnut streets with a vehicle lighting violation.

Upon investigation, the officer found the driver, Mary Goodhile, 54, of Summit Hill, to be under the influence.

Woodward said when laboratory results were received as a result of a blood draw, the driver was charged with one count of driving under the Influence of alcohol, two counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and a charge of unlawful activities (lighting violation).

• The second DUI case happened at 10:34 p.m. Sept. 18 when police observed a U-Haul van traveling eastbound in a careless manner on State Route 902 in the area of Amidon Street.

Police said the officer found the driver, Chanda Nederostek, 43, of Linwood, New Jersey, to be under the influence. The laboratory test results on a blood draw resulted in Nederostek being charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, careless driving and driving on roadways laned for traffic.

• David Lee Brown Jr., 52, of Bowmanstown, is facing numerous charges after a Dodge Ram truck he was driving at 1:12 a.m. Nov. 15 in the area of Rt. 902 and Lehigh Street was observed with a lighting violation. The chief said officers also learned there is an active warrant out from the county sheriff’s office for his arrest.

The chief said officers discovered methamphetamine on the driver, as well as paraphernalia and brass knuckles inside the vehicle, resulting in Brown being arrested for prohibited offensive weapons, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and general lighting requirements.

• A disorderly conduct case happened at 11:52 p.m. Nov. 17 in the area of 250 W. Fell St.

Woodward said officers received a complaint of a female yelling in the area and found Kristen Benek, 41, of Summit Hill, yelling and in an intoxicated state. She was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
