Carbon County Commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting on Dec. 1.

• Reappointed Dr. Dawn Mriss of Lehighton to a three-year term on the animal shelter advisory commission.

• Reappointed Robin D. Cressley of Lehighton to a four-year term as public director and Commissioner Wayne Nothstein to a one-year term as commissioner representative on the conservation district board.

• Reappointed William George of Aquashicola to a five-year term on the Housing Authority.

• Approved a consulting service agreement with June Fisher for professional services to the Carbon County Children and Youth agency at a cost of $100 per hour and $20 per hour travel time. The term of the agreement continues until May 31, 2023.

• Commissioner Chris Lukasevich announced that 13 of the 25 county departments in Jim Thorpe now offer validated parking for visitors who have business in the county. So far 27 people have used the validated parking. Validated parking may be use this to attend county meetings such as the commissioners.
