The individuals holding the top two leadership positions within Jim Thorpe Area School District’s board of directors will remain the same for third consecutive years.
Scott Pompa and T.J. Garritano were unanimously elected president and vice-president respectively during Wednesday night’s reorganization meeting at Jim Thorpe High School.
“I want to thank this board for the last 3 years,” Pompa said. “It’s been amazing the way it has come together. We’re really hitting the goals we have set out for ourselves. We look forward to taking care of the unsettled business that stands before us this year.”
Meeting changes
In the only other business conducted at Wednesday’s meeting, Pompa announced school board meetings would be held on the third Wednesday of the month in 2023, one week later than was the case in 2022.
Committee meetings will also be moved from Monday nights, which Pompa said conflicted with the schedules of many directors, to Wednesday nights when board meetings are not held.
