Two Mahanoy City residents in a car stopped by police in West Penn Township have been charged.
On Nov. 26, West Penn Township police stopped a vehicle after receiving a hit on the license plate reader for an expired registration. The driver of the vehicle, Amanda Allamong, 33, of Mahanoy City, was also found to have a suspended driver’s license, no insurance, and an altered inspection sticker.
During the traffic stop, the passenger provided false identification to police. A computer search identified him as Mark Daniel Boykas, 35, also of Mahanoy City.
He was found to be wanted by Schuylkill County Domestic Relations on an outstanding bench warrant.
The false name and date of birth Boykas used belonged to a real person and was used to avoid apprehension on outstanding warrants.
Boykas was sent to the Schuylkill County Prison on the outstanding warrant. Additional charges were filed against him for identity theft and providing false identification to police.
Allamong was issued several citations.
