West Penn police find drugs, weapons on man on parole

West Penn Township police found drugs and weapons in the home of a man serving state parole.

Police received information about drug sales and weapons at 47 Mush Dahl Road, New Ringgold. The resident was found to be Jason H. Hill, 32, who was on active state parole.

Information was provided to State Parole, which did a home visit of Hill on Oct. 25, with West Penn Township officers providing exterior security for the probation officers.

During their home visit, probation officers discovered a firearm in the residence and turned the incident over to the West Penn police. Hill consented to a search of the residence.

During that search, several weapons were recovered, including one with an obliterated serial number. Also found at the residence were brass knuckles, multiple boxes of ammunition, crystal methamphetamine, heroin, numerous baggies with heroin residue, marijuana grinders, pipes, needles, a large quantity of packaging materials, and six scales.

Hill was charged with persons not to possess a firearm, possessing a firearm with altered number, possession of drugs with intent to deliver, possession of offensive weapons, crimes committed with firearms, and other charges.

He was arraigned by District Judge Andrew J. Serina, Orwigsburg, and committed to the Schuylkill County Prison under $100,000 straight cash bail.
