Third person dies from Pocono crash

A third person has died from injuries in the crash at the intersection of routes 115 and 715 Sunday night in Pocono Township, Monroe County.

The Lehigh County coroner’s office said Ruth Gedeon, 26, of Brooklyn, New York, was pronounced dead on Monday at 9:03 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. The cause of death is multiple traumatic injuries.

Gedeon was the passenger of a motor vehicle that was in collision with another motor vehicle.

Pocono Township Police said at 6:31 p.m. police were dispatched to the crash near the outlets in Tannersville.

Police said the driver of a black 2020 Subaru WRX, Alejandro J. Roman, 33, of Hazleton, and the driver of a blue 2018 Nissan Rogue, Elisha Andre, 28, of Brooklyn, New York, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three female passengers from the Nissan Rogue were also seriously injured and transported from the scene. The roadway was closed for several hours for crash investigation and cleanup.

Gedeon was one of the passengers.

The two hospitalized passengers have been treated for their injuries and released.

The Pocono Township Police Department was assisted by the Pocono Township Volunteer Fire Company, St. Luke’s EMS, Pocono Mountain Regional EMS and Suburban EMS and the Monroe County Coroner’s Office. The investigation into this crash is ongoing at this time.
