State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of two checks from a rural mailbox in Carbon County.

A 82-year-old man from Route 903, in Penn Forest Township, reported two checks were taken from his mailbox. The value of the two checks was set at $175.70. The incident was reported at 9:49 a.m. on Nov. 30.
