Man charged with shooting kitten in W. Penn

A Frackville man charged with sexually assaulting a dog in Minersville now faces charges of shooting a kitten in West Penn Township.

Andrew Allen Lengle, 28, was charged by West Penn Township Police Officer Kai B. Apel with cruelty to animals.

On July 20, police were contacted by a township resident regarding an injured kitten.

The kitten was found in a barn in rough shape. According to a veterinarian, the kitten had multiple BB’s inside of its spine, rendering it paralyzed.

According to the owner of the kitten, Lengle was working in their barn earlier that day. His BB gun was found in the barn.

Lengle faces a preliminary hearing at 9:15 a.m. Dec. 20 before District Judge Andrew J. Serina of Orwigsburg.

Lengle also faces Commonwealth Court on charges of sexual intercourse with animal and cruelty to animals. The charges were filed by Minersville Police on July 22.
