A 33-year-old Monroe County man is charged with attempted homicide after a shooting in Cresco.

On Friday at 5:18 p.m., the Pennsylvania State Police Stroudsburg station responded to Clarks Road, near the intersection of Creek Road, Price

Township, Monroe County for a report of a shooting. A 38-year-old man from Staten Island, New York, told police that his vehicle was shot at multiple times. A 76-year-old woman from Cresco is also listed as a victim.

While troopers were on the way to the scene, Benjamin Stitt, 33, arrived at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks to report the shooting incident, which he was just involved in.

An investigation was initiated and interviews were conducted. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the roadway, along with the victim’s vehicle that had bullet holes. Based upon the investigation and interviews, attempted homicide and related charges against Stitt were approved by the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
