Christmas in the Park

The Palmerton Holiday Lighting Committee is sponsoring Christmas in the Park on Dec. 3, with a rain date of Dec. 4.

Events are as follows:

Noon: Opening ceremony with remarks by Mayor Don Herman, as well as food and craft vendors.

12:15 p.m.: Towmensing Elementary School Chorus

Noon-5 p.m.: Free face painting for children

1-3 p.m.: Santa greets all children on the bandstand. (Children must be in line by 2:30 p.m. to see Santa). Goodie bags for all children, chances on prizes.

1:15-4 p.m.: Wagon rides

3:30-4:45 p.m.: Holiday favorites performed by “Off the Charts Music School Elves”

4:45 p.m.: Top three tree awards

5 p.m.: Lighting of 155 Christmas trees.

Donations of new unwrapped toys will be accepted for CACPAC Toys for Kids Drive. Nonperishable food items will be collected for the CACPAC Food Pantry. All donations please take to the Bandstand.

Baked Sale

The Concourse Club of Palmerton will be holding a bake sale at Palmerton’s Christmas in the Park. See them at their tent in the park beginning at noon.

Meat Pie Sale

Jerusalem Evangelical Church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville is holding a Meat Pie Sale fundraiser. $13 for chicken, pork, or chicken/pork mixed and $15 for beef.

Orders are due by Dec. 30.

To order, call the church office at 610-681-5200 or call 610-681-5403. Pick-up on Jan. 16 and 17 starting at noon. Specify which pick-up date you prefer when ordering.

Palmerton Area Historical Society

The Palmerton Area Historical Society and the Christian Action Council of Palmerton Area Churches will be sponsoring the 16th Annual Ecumenical Christmas Service at the Little White Church on Sunday at 3 p.m. This year, the Rev. Kenneth Melber, Jr., M.Div., pastor of St John’s Lutheran Church, Towamensing and Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville, will be presiding.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Palmerton Food Pantry.

Breakfast

Breakfast will be served Sunday, 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Parryville Fire Co. #2, 359 Main St., Parryville. Platter choices include pancakes, French toast, eggs any style, SOS, Fire House Mess, western omelet, ham & Cheese omelet. Choices of meats are ham, sausage, scrapple or bacon. Includes homefries, juice and coffee. The have large and small platters.
