Raising the House, a nonprofit based in Palmerton, is hosting its second annual Lights at the Lake drive-through holiday display.

• Lights on the Lake: Holiday and winter-themed light displays throughout Mauch Chunk Lake Park in Jim Thorpe through Dec. 23, Lights at the Lake will be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

• The Carbon Model Railroad Society will hold its Holiday Open House at 529 Ore Street in Bowmanstown on Dec. 8 and on Jan. 5 from 7-9 p.m. It will also be open on Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 3-4, Dec. 10-11 and Jan. 7-8 from 1-4 p.m. Admission is free; donations are welcome, 610-826-6636.

This weekend

• The Annual Tamaqua Spirit of Christmas Festival is underway. Today, an Elf Workshop will be held at Lehigh Carbon Community College on High Street in the borough. College students will oversee activities for children between 4 and 5 p.m.; Tonight, Santa Parade at 6, followed by the lighting of Depot Square Park at the Five Points intersection.

On Saturday, a Breakfast with Santa, 9 a.m. at the Perla Enterprises Building (former Salvation Army), 570-239-6436; The Tamaqua Public Library hosting events from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., noon to 3 p.m. Stokes Ministry will have children’s crafts and games at First United Methodist Church on West Broad Street, “Open Air Old Fashion Christmas Market” at Tink’s Antiques on South Railroad Street from 5 to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, including train rides with Santa on the Reading & Northern Railroad. Excursions will be held each day at 10:30 a.m., 1 and 3:30 p.m., tickets, 610-562-2102 or in person (cash only) at Tink’s Antiques; Saturday and Sunday, an Artisan Market and Craft Fair at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday: Community tree lighting at 6 p.m.

• An all-you-can-eat breakfast with Santa from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday, at the Albrightsville Fire Co., Route 534, West Hickory Run, Albrightsville. Also collecting Toys for Tots.

• Jim Thorpe’s Memorial Park First Festival of Trees, trees lit nightly through the season.

• Jim Thorpe Tree Lighting, 5 p.m. today, Josiah White Park, Main St., hot chocolate, live music by vocalist Dina Tulli Davis, TNT Dancers, Jim Thorpe Marching Band and Santa.

• Nesquehoning Christmas tree Lighting, 6 p.m. today at the tree along West Catawissa Street across from Turkey Hill. Everyone is invited to attend. Following the lighting, Meed’s church will hold caroling and refreshments.

• The Concourse Club’s “Deck the Halls” Holiday House Tour from 4-8 p.m. today. In addition to the homes, there is a hospitality center, located at Holy Trinity Church, 5th Street and Lafayette Avenue, where complimentary food and beverages will be served and local musicians will be performing holiday music.

Honor students from the Palmerton High School will be caroling throughout town. Tickets are available for advance purchase at the Palmerton Area Library and The Heritage Center, both located on the 400 block of Delaware Avenue in Palmerton. • The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will be held by the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Memorial Park in Slatington, vendors, performances, refreshments.

• SS Peter & Paul Church, Lehighton annual Christmas Festival on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a gift basket auction, bake sale and homemade food available.

• 2022 Carbon County Black Forest Krampusnacht, Sunday, noon to 6 p.m., Pocono Whitewater, 1519 State Route 903, Jim Thorpe. In partnership with the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce of Commerce, Pocono Whitewater Rafting and Big Creek Vineyard and Winery, The Carbon Chamber & Economic Development, on-site parking, bonfire for s’mores and storytelling, vendors and food.

• Palmerton Christmas in the Park, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Palmerton Borough Park. Entertainment is scheduled throughout the day including the Towamensing Elementary School Chorus, the students from Off the Charts Music School, horse drawn carriage rides by Steiner Artisan Farm from 1-4 p.m., a complimentary face painter and Santa will be in the Bandstand for the children to visit from 1-3 p.m. Children must be in line by 2:30 p.m.

The Holiday Lighting Committee will be accepting donations in the Bandstand of nonperishable food products to support CACPAC, as well as, toy donations for the local holiday toy drive.

• Walnutport Tree Lighting, 2-5 p.m. Saturday, S. Lincoln Ave., with food trucks, including Mr. Doggy Style, Caribbean Islands Cuisine, and The Rolling Barista, candy cane hunt at 3 p.m., tree lighting ceremony will be around 5 p.m.

• Annual tree lighting and visit with Santa, Saturday in Ross Township. Santa will arrive on a Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder firetruck at 4 p.m. After the tree lighting, Santa will visit with guests inside the municipal building. Hot cocoa will be served.

• Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club Breakfast with Santa, Saturday with seatings at 8:30 or 10:30 a.m. at the Lehighton Boys & Girls Band Hall at 197 N. Sixth St., Lehighton. Seating is limited.

• The Tamaqua Historical Society Museum on West Broad Street will hold an Open House Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

• Christmas on the Hill, 4-8 p.m., Sunday, Ludlow Park, Summit Hill. Christmas caroling, complimentary cookies and hot chocolate will at 5:30 p.m., with Santa’s arrival about 6 p.m.

• Lehighton Christmas in the Park, 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Upper and Lower parks, hosted by the Lehighton Borough Parks & Recreation Board, 3 to 5:30 p.m., free kids crafts, Santa arrives on the Lehighton Fire Truck at 4 p.m., Kids bicycle drawing; 6 p.m., tree lighting ceremony with caroling by the Pale Moon Players on Constitution Ave.
