A family smoking their Thanksgiving turkey caused heavy fire damage to their and an adjoining home Thursday morning.

According to reports on the scene the leg collapsed,causing the fire.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at 621 Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton, at 11:45 a.m. where it was reported heavy flames were showing.

All of the occupants managed to escape the flames.
