State police at Fern Ridge

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following incidents:

• On Nov. 8 troopers responded to Kinsley’s ShopRite, located at 107 Kinsley Drive, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a report of a theft incident.

On scene troopers learned over the course of numerous visits to the store Richard Kania, 58, of Saylorsburg, selected merchandise and concealed it before exiting the store without paying for the items.

Total amount stolen was valued at $478.03. Kania was charged with retail theft.

• On Nov. 20 at 9:44 p.m. troopers were dispatched for a one-vehicle crash along Spring Lane in Chestnuthill Township, involving a 2021 Subaru Outback. The driver, Omar Elinbabi, 33, of Saylorsburg, was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital - Pocono, for treatment of minor injuries. An investigation revealed that Elinbabi was suspected of DUI. Troopers said DUI charges are pending blood test results.

• On Nov. 20 at 12:54 a.m. troopers were dispatched to 175 Cress Drive in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for an active domestic incident. On scene troopers noted a hole in the drywall at the entryway of the residence caused when Salvatore De Palma, 43, Saylorsburg, pushed his wife, Samantha Smith, 34. He also had a bruise around his eye.

Both were issued citations for harassment - physical contact.

• On Nov. 18 at 6:16 p.m. troopers responded to 1288 Overlook Court, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Sharon Barrett, 58, of Saylorsburg, struck John Alemy, 58, Saylorsburg, in the right big toe and then he pushed her away. Both were issued citations for harassment - physical contact.

• Troopers said a 79-year-old female from Albrightsville, was at Kinsley’s Shop Rite store in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, on Nov. 4 at 3:33 p.m. when a wallet was removed from her purse. Multiple charges were made on the woman’s credit cards.
