Emergency crews were dispatched Wednesday afternoon to the Pines of West Penn to help a person to get down from a water tank.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. when the person was found on a platform halfway up the tank.

West Penn fire personnel requested an aerial truck to help with the rescue. The person was brought down to safety with aid of fire personnel.

Dispatched to the scene were the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics.

The incident is being investigated by West Penn Township police and state police at Frackville.
