Stroudsburg snowmen display starts Friday

Snowmen of Stroudsburg returns for a fifth year starting Friday in the borough and will run through Feb. 25.

Hand-painted and decorated by local artists, the 37 life-size snowmen sculptures are spread around the Stroudsburg area and relocated several times during the winter.

The Snowmen of Stroudsburg concept was developed by Go Collaborative, a nonprofit dedicated to rainstorming how artists, businesses, and houses of worship can partner for the community’s benefit.

In addition to 27 snowmen from past years, ten new sculptures are making their debut. Earlier this year, 12 original snowmen sold at public auction with proceeds benefiting the artists. Many of those snowmen, purchased by private residents and local businesses, will also be on display.

After Friday, the public can go to GoCollaborativeStbg.com to vote for their favorite snowman.

There is a tree lighting ceremony in Courthouse Square Friday evening.

Ten businesses in downtown Stroudsburg will have maps showing the locations of snowmen.
