Albrightsville man charged with attempted homicide

An Albrightsville man is in jail on attempted homicide charges after he shot another man during an argument, according to state police at Fern Ridge.

On Monday morning, a 30-year-old man arrived at St. Luke’s Hospital-Carbon campus for treatment of a gunshot wound, state police said.

Troopers said an altercation took place between the man and Travis Otero, 31, outside a residence on Chapman Circle, Albrightsville.

State police said that during the altercation Otero shot the man in the thigh.

Otero was taken into custody and charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure and two counts recklessly endangering another person.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, being held on $250,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on Nov. 30 in front of District Judge Casimir Kosciolek.

Troopers said that there no threat to the public.
