Palmerton borough council on a 6-0 vote took the following action on Thursday:

• Discussed the Act 152 Carbon County demolition fund. Borough Manager Donna McGarry received an email from a Carbon County municipality about a fee that can be collected by the county to be used for dilapidated properties. The money would be held by the county, and municipalities could then apply for the funds.

The fee would be paid by the individuals involved in the property transfer. Council said that it needed to get more information.

• Agreed to waive a conflict of interest of having Nanovic Law Office representing a client at an upcoming zoning hearing board meeting.

• Approved the first reading of an ordinance pertaining to a tax penalty waiver.

• Adopted a resolution naming Kirk Summa & Co. LLP the auditing firm for 2022.
