A Weatherly man was struck by a vehicle early Saturday while walking along a road in Lausanne Township, in which the driver fled the scene.

State police at Hazleton said the incident occurred at 12:47 a.m. along Buck Mountain Road.

Troopers said Philip J. Mumie II, 33, was walking in the road when he was struck by an unknown make/model vehicle. After Mumie was hit, the driver fled.

Mumie was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton Campus with suspected serious injuries, troopers said.

The investigation is continuing.
