State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at Lehighton reported details on recent crashes:

• A two-vehicle crash occurred at 6:48 a.m. on Oct. 31 along Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Caleb T. Schaffer, 19, of Palmerton, driving a 2013 Toyota Rav4, and Melissa M. Reitz, 50, of Palmerton, driving a 2017 Ford Escape, were both eastbound. Reitz began to slow down to turn left into a parking lot and noticed Schaffer was not slowing down. She quickly turned her vehicle to the right to lessen the impact. Schaffer’s vehicle then struck Reitz’s vehicle.

No one was injured. Schaffer was cited for following too closely.

• A crash occurred at 7:42 a.m. on Nov. 4 along Penn Forest Road in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Kyle F. Kemp, 35, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2010 Ford F150 pickup southbound when the vehicle left the road and traveled right toward a ditch striking a fence and side-swiping a tree before coming to a stop.

Kemp was not injured. The truck had to be towed.

Kemp was cited for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 12:06 a.m. on Oct. 8 along Route 115 in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Sean T. Mullins, 28, of Brodheadsville, was driving a 2008 Saturn Astra northbound in the right lane when his vehicle struck a deer that had entered the road in front of him.

No injuries were reported. The vehicle had to be towed.
