A two-car crash Sunday afternoon in Lehigh Township is under investigation.
The Lehigh Township Police Department said police were dispatched at about 5:35 p.m. to a two-vehicle, head-on crash on Route 248 (Lehigh Drive) at Gap View Drive.
A Hyundai Sonata, driven by Tanya Piccolo, 33, of Palmerton, was traveling eastbound on 248 and crashed head-on with a Chevrolet Trailblazer, operated by Gregory Bredbenner, 61, of Northampton, that was traveling westbound on Lehigh Drive, police said.
Airbags were deployed in both vehicles, and both drivers were transported by Northampton Regional EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenburg Campus.
Their injury status is unknown.
According to witness information, the Hyundai Sonata crossed into the oncoming lane of travel and collided with the Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The roadway was closed for about one hour.
Also assisting at the scene were the Lehigh Township Fire & Rescue, as well as Lehigh Township fire police.
