Lehighton Borough Council recently took the following action:

• Adopted a new Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance.

• Hired Remmington & Vernik as borough engineering firm.

• Approved cost of living increase for eligible retired police officers.

• Approved a request from the Lehighton Ambulance Association for a yearly donation in the amount of $2,500.

• Approved a resolution to implement Act 57 of 2022 Property Tax Penalty Waiver Provisions.

• Agreed to advertise a change to an ordinance defining and regulating connections to the Public Water System.

• Approved a proposal from Hutchinson, Gillahan & Freeh for the 2022 audit.

• Approved a request from Bethany Church to hold Christmas Candlelight Concert/Service on Dec. 11 in the Amphitheatre.
