Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m., and then traditional service at 11 a.m. You can worship in person or in the parking lot by tuning the radio station to 104.3 FM or Facebook Live.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is prayer and praise.

Nov. 14: Church Council, 7 p.m.

Nov. 15: Quilting Group, 10 a.m.

Nov. 16: Adult Bible Study at 2 p.m.

Nov. 20: Youth Group, 6 p.m.

Nov. 23: Thanksgiving Eve worship service at 7 p.m.

Nov. 26: Decorate the church for Christmas at 9 a.m.

Nov. 27: Advent begins

Nov. 30: Advent Bible study at 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Three missions for November:

ABC Food Pantry: helping needy families within our church and people throughout the community.

Micah’s Meals: helping needy Palmerton School District students.

Benevolence Fund: helping to meet the emergency needs that arise both within our church family and in the community.

Jerusalem UCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, holds Sunday worship service in the church sanctuary at 10 a.m. Pastor Marion leads the worship.

You can also remain in your vehicle in the parking lot and listen to the service on radio station 95.5 or watch live on Facebook. The service is also posted on the website after the service. Please note the service is no longer held in the grove.

Holy Trinity Lutheran

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will hold worship on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. If you plan to attend, call the church office at 610-826-2525.

If you are unable to attend in person, you may join on Zoom. Communion will be served. Please remember to bring food items for the food pantry.

Bible Study is in Fellowship Hall on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Warmth for Winter Drive

Palmerton Kids for the Community is accepting new or gently used items only such as coats, scarves, hats, and gloves (all-weather proof only). Donations can be dropped off at 783 Princeton Ave., Palmerton.

Thanksgiving Filling Sale

The Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company, Little Gap Road, Palmerton will be holding a Pennsylvania Dutch potato filling sale again this year. Order by Nov. 14 by calling 610-826-2066; email AFD1@PTD.NET or see a member of the fire department.

Drive thru pickup, Nov. 23 after 7 p.m. or Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Containers are $10 each (9-inch container and can be frozen up to 3 months).

Proceeds will go toward the purchase of a $350,000 tank truck to ensure they are properly equipped to serve the community.

Basket social

Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton, will hold a basket social and bake sale on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. The drawing will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday.

They will have food for sale including homemade pierogies, halushki, filling, apple dumplings, and more.

JUCC Movie Night

Jerusalem UCC, Trachsville will hold a movie night at 6:30 p.m. today in the church sanctuary. Movie is “Facing the Giants,” 2006 PG and one hour 51 minutes. Free popcorn and drinks.

Historical Society

The Palmerton Area Historical Society welcomes Roger Latzgo, composer/performer. He pays tribute in song to our state’s cultural scene. Enjoy a musical sketch of labors, hopes, and joys of the people as they pursued the American dream.

The event is free and open to the public. The performance will be held at the Palmerton Library Knight’s Gallery at 6:30 p.m. Monday. For more information, please contact the Heritage Center at 610-824-6954.

Palmerton Area Library

Palmerton Area Library will have a handmade items auction until Nov. 19.

Craft and vendor show

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton will hold a craft and vendor show on Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Will have 20 vendors and crafters.

The kitchen will be open featuring filling and gravy, and homemade macaroni and cheese.
