Meuser wins all 12 counties to take 9th District seat

Rep. Dan Meuser, who is in his final year of representing Carbon County in the U.S. House of Representatives due to redistricting, won re-election to a two-year term in the newly-designed 9th District of Pennsylvania that includes 12 counties, including Schuylkill.

Meuser, a Republican, was a 206,125 to 89,635 winner over Democrat Amanda Waldman of Lycoming County.

The congressman’s win was of landslide proportions, as he won all 12 counties.

Meuser has represented the district since Jan. 3, 2019.

Before joining Congress, he served as the head of the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue from 2011-15 under Gov. Tom Corbett. He also was the president of the Pride Mobility Corporation, a motorized wheelchair manufacturer.

The county breakdown of his win is as follows:

Berks – Meuser, 15,869; Waldman, 7,173.

Bradford – Meuser, 16,956; Waldman, 5,982.

Columbia – Meuser, 16,297; Waldman, 7,784.

Lebanon – Meuser, 37,676; Waldman, 18,176.

Montour – Meuser, 4,326; Waldman, 1,767.

Northumberland – Meuser, 22,398; Waldman, 9,442.

Susquehanna – Meuser, 12,234; Waldman, 4,807.
