Blakeslee man calls mother ‘antiChrist’, stabs 20 times

A Blakeslee man has been charged with stabbing his mother around 20 times because of her political views.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Ronald Ziobro of the state police at Fern Ridge barracks, in the case against Jonathan Sacerdote III:

On Saturday, state police were called to Econo Lodge, Plateau Motel on Route 940 in White Haven. Police talked to Kidder Township officer Mason Moran who was dispatched to the Econo Lodge for a woman screaming that she is going to be killed.

Initial reports were that the victim was stabbed multiple times by her son, Sacerdote, 19.

Moran arrived on scene at 7:30 p.m. and found the woman seated in a chair in the parking lot in front of room No. 6.

She said she was stabbed multiple times by Sacerdote, who ran away but was most likely in unit No. 1.

Moran took Sacerdote into custody. He was wearing red plaid pajama pants and was covered in blood and dirt.

Police found a steak knife covered in blood with a dark-colored handle in the room.

While in custody, Sacerdote told police his mother needed to be dead because of her political views.

Moran then placed Sacerdote into the rear of his patrol vehicle and helped the woman, who said she was stabbed about 20 times by Sacerdote.

The woman said that this was not the first time that Sacerdote had attempted to hurt her, as he had told her multiple times that he was going to kill her.

While in transport, Sacerdote told police his mother needs to die because of her political views and that she is a “baby boomer,” and that he wanted her dead and that he was surprised to hear that he did not kill her during this incident.

Sacerdote admitted to taking a large steak knife from a cup in the kitchen, and said that his mother is the devil, and stabbed her multiple times in an attempt to kill her.

He said that he stabbed her in the head and “every single part of her body,” and that while she was being stabbed, she kept yelling “I’m dying,” but she was speaking clearly which he thought was odd.

The woman was interviewed at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital and said that she and her son have resided at the hotel since July, and that earlier the night of the incident, Sacerdote had knocked her off her chair and struck her in the head several times.

She said that Sacerdote left the room and went to speak to a neighbor and returned a half-hour later and got into an altercation with her outside of the room.

Sacerdote told the victim he would kill her, and knocked her over and stabbed her several times in the head with the knife in a downward stabbing motion.

Sacerdote told her she was “Lucifer.” He cut an “L” shape into her hand and told her that he wanted her to bleed out and die.

The woman had numerous knife wounds to her hands, arms, torso and head/neck area, and went to a neighboring residence where the occupant called 911 for her.

The Carbon County Communications Center said Sacerdote called 911 after the incident and said that he was surprised his mother was still alive because she had been stabbed several times and explained that she was the anti-Christ.

Sacerdote faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal homicide, harassment, and terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another.

He is in the Carbon County Prison, with bail denied and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Nov. 16 before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr., of Weatherly.
