Area state police report on driving under the influence cases:

• James Keiper, 39, of Albrightsville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance following a traffic stop made by state police at the Stroudsburg barracks at 4:18 p.m. Oct. 18 at the intersection of Route 209 and Hamilton Road East in Hamilton Township.

Police said they stopped Keiper operating a 2012 Hyundai Veloster.

• A 53-year-old Stroudsburg man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a stop made by state police at the Stroudsburg barracks.

Police said they stopped the driver of a 2002 Buick Park Avenue at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the intersection of Neyhart Road and Route 209 in Hamilton Township for a Motor Vehicle Code violation.

He was discovered to be under the influence of drugs.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, but refused to submit to chemical testing, police said.

• State police at Fern Ridge said charges of driving under the influence of alcohol are pending against a driver who was operating a vehicle in the wrong direction on Route 903.

It happened at 1:18 a.m. Oct. 23 when police stopped a 2007 Jeep Commander while it was traveling south in the northbound lane just south of the intersection with Jonathan Point Drive in Kidder Township.

• Danielle Alkema, 32, of Saylorsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop made by state police at the Stroudsburg barracks at 1:35 a.m. Oct. 8.

Police said they stopped her driving a 2013 Ford F150 on Interstate 80 westbound in Stroud Township.

She was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, for processing.

• State police at the Lehighton barracks said a man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after an incident at 12:03 a.m. Oct. 20 at the intersection of rotes 209 and 715 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said after suspecting the driver to be under the influence, they took him for toxicology tests, the results of which are pending. Police did not release his name.
