Closing Lansford factory factors into vote

I am sure many of us remember the Silberline Manufacturing plant in Lansford closing down several years ago. I was recently reminded of this when I saw news stories on this topic that discussed how Silberline CEO Lisa Scheller closed that Lansford plant down. Instead, she chose to reopen the plant in China.

Lisa Scheller shut down a factory in our community and hurt the local employees who depended on it. This is not an exaggeration or a misstatement of the facts. The record is there to see. Now, she is running for Congress to “represent” our community. Who exactly will she represent? We can only assume Lisa Scheller will represent herself and herself only.

We all know that American workers are undervalued. We also know that American manufacturing is under invested in. Carbon County is a prime example of this. We need to be bringing more economic development here, not take it away! As Silberline’s CEO, Scheller took economic development away from Carbon when she shipped Lansford jobs to China. She is a clear part of the problem facing our workers.

Lisa Scheller profited off exporting Carbon County jobs to China. Anyone who ships Carbon jobs overseas does not deserve to represent us or our hard working community.
