Lineup announced for Jim Thorpe’s Halloween parade
The 27th annual Jim Thorpe Halloween parade will step off at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The parade will form at 1 p.m. at the Jim Thorpe High School parking lot and then travel down Route 903 to Fifth Street.
Transportation for parade participants will then be provided on Third Street to take them back to Memorial Park for refreshments.
A detour will be set up beginning at 1:45 p.m. for people traveling through the town. It will detour from Fifth to 10th streets, passing Evergreen and St. Joseph cemeteries.
The parade is sponsored by the Jim Thorpe Lions Club.
This year’s grand marshal is the late Jim Trainer, who was one of the driving forces in planning the parade. Trainer passed away earlier this year.
Following the parade, judging will announce best float, best group and most original. This year’s judges are Duke Bilsak, Dr. Clem McGinley and Tom Lesisko.

Doyle Heffley; Jim Thorpe High School band and cheerleaders, and Carbon County Republican Party “We Love America.”
Division 2
