Man charged after shots fired, police say

An Albrightsville man has been charged with assaulting a woman and firing shots on her property in Franklin Township on Aug. 7.

Franklin Township police say Adrian Thompson, 29, got into an argument with a woman at her Bass Pike residence over keys the woman’s friend had given her.

Thompson, who said the keys were his, told the woman he wanted them back. After a back-and-forth, Thompson grabbed the woman by the throat and threw her against her kitchen island, the woman told police.

Thompson then left with the keys, but once outside threw them down in the yard as he headed toward his car, police said.

The woman told police that Thompson then fired two rounds from a gun.

The day after the incident, the woman found a bullet hole in her refrigerator and called police.

Police found the bullet in the freezer.

Thompson faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, recklessly endangering another person, and criminal trespass.

He is in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $200,000 straight bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Nov. 2 before District Judge William J. Kissner of Palmerton.
