Pie Fundraiser

Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center is holding a homemade pie fundraiser.

Fresh, homemade 9-inch pies from Deppen’s Farm, Lykens can be ordered before Oct. 31. Delivery date in Nov. 9.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Turkey and waffle take out dinners from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday. Dinner includes homemade apple pie. Prices are $15 for adults, $7 for ages 5-12 and children under 4 are free.

Oktober Feast

The Culinary Team at Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, is hosting an Oktober Feast on Oct. 19 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Sauerbraten, sausage or brat dinners are available with sauerkraut, corn and applesauce. A la carte items are also available including hot dogs, potato soup with ham, potato salad, beef or turkey BBQ and various apple dessert items with ice cream. Takeouts are available.

Zion Lutheran is at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets.

Veteran’s Day Parade

Tamaqua’s annual Veterans Day Parade will once again be hosted by the American Legion C .H. Berry Post 173 on Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. Staging will begin at 9 a.m. by the old Maff Motors Building on East Broad St. The Legion Honor Guard will fire a volley over the war memorial.

Calvary Lewistown

Morning worship service will be the Sunday school Rally Day program at 10:25 a.m. Sunday school classes are scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Sunday evening service will be a gospel bluegrass concert by The Good News Travelin’ Band at 6:30 p.m. Prayer meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
