A man with a sword and wearing a clown mask robbed an Effort gas station just before 5 a.m. Thursday, according to state police at Fern Ridge.
The man entered the Uni Mart store on Route 115 through the back door, demanded the cashier open the register and took the money, police said. He then fled into the woods near the business.
The Uni Mart is at the intersection of Route 115 and Jonas Road.
Along with the mask, police said the suspect was wearing gray sweatpants, a white T-shirt, and black socks.
