Times News starts digital subscriptions

The Times News is now offering subscription access to our website, tnonline.com.

Beginning today, a digital access subscription will be needed in order to view articles, photos, columns and other relevant content at tnonline.com.

Current print subscribers will have unlimited digital access included with their Times News subscription. Subscribers who have not previously registered through our self-care portal must register their account at tnonline.com to continue using the site. Those who have used our self-care portal in the past will be able to log in with their current email address and password.

Nonsubscribers can continue to access certain pages on tnonline.com such as the home page, section fronts, classifieds, legal notices, contact forms, contests, advertising rates, in memoriam ads, special sections, obituaries, the events calendar, and sponsored content.

Select news content will also be available free of charge, such as breaking news stories and emergency bulletins.

Readers can access three free articles per month before being prompted to subscribe to an unlimited digital access subscription starting at $3.95 per month for the first six months and then continuing for $6.95 per month.

A day pass is also available for $1 for unlimited access to tnonline.com content for 24 hours after purchase.

The Times News is proud to serve as the primary source of local news for Carbon County for more than 120 years. The five-county circulation area also includes parts of Schuylkill, Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton counties.

In 2021 alone, the Times News published 4,000 local sports stories, nearly 2,000 educational stories and 2,150 local government stories. In all, we published more than 12,000 local stories covering our communities.

We have also served over 700 local businesses and organizations bringing their advertising messages to the public.

While we are strong supporters of easily accessible information, it has become increasingly difficult to offer free news online while we continue to charge only 75 cents for our newspaper at the single copy price and have not increased our subscription rates in many years.

This change will allow us to continue offering local news for our readers at affordable prices while providing additional revenue to continue publishing the Times News.

If you have a question about your current subscription or would like to subscribe, please call our circulation department at 800-596-6397.
