Monroe starts new drug program

The Monroe County District Attorney’s office is starting a new program to review fatal overdoses, the department announced recently.

It will begin in November with the goal of identifying system gaps within the community and to prevent fatal overdoses.

One of the program’s goals is take a closer look at the person who overdosed and what went wrong.

Committee members will meet bimonthly and will identify system gaps and formulate recommendations to community resources.

Anyone interested in being part of the program, contact Detective Kim Lippincott at klippincott@monroecountypa.gov.
