Lehighton Borough Council took the following action on Monday:

• Hired Lisa Palmer as a crossing guard at $10 an hour, pending completion of pre-employment process.

• Tabled a request from Nickolas Smith to become a junior council person.

• Approved a $400,000 transfer from the borough’s Light & Power fund to the general fund.

• Approved the Lehighton Downtown Partnership’s request to hold a Hometown Vintage Christmas event from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 10 in the downtown.

• Approved the request from Doug Edwards to photograph borough council and emergency service personnel.
