Police seize over 70 pounds of marijuana in Monroe traffic stop

Over 70 pounds of marijuana was seized following a traffic stop in Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said on Saturday troopers conducted a traffic stop in Tobyhanna Township for traffic violations. During the stop police noticed numerous indicators of criminal activity. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted and found was 71.4 pounds of vacuum sealed marijuana.

The driver, who troopers declined to identify, was taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance along with other drug charges. The driver was placed in the county prison in Snydersville, troopers said.
