Credit defaults

The following actions have been filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

• Discover Bank, New Albany, Ohio, filed the following actions: Gaetana F. Pisciotta, 674 Scenic Drive, Albrightsville, seeking $15,341.49; and John S. Cunniff, 15 Recreation Drive, Jim Thorpe, seeking $12,989.62.

• Citibank, Fort Washington, filed the following actions: Kevin Marsh, 38 Lentz Ave., Lehighton, seeking $2,781.50; and Richard Antrim, 38 Chippewa Trail, Albrightsville, seeking $3,260.34.

• LVNV Funding, Las Vega, Nevada, filed the following actions: Christopher Caldwell, 122 W. Patterson St., Lansford, seeking $3,715.59; Kristin Behler, 1080 Forest Inn Rd., Palmerton, seeking $1,439.71; Kristina Duffy, 514 Center Ave., Jim Thorpe, seeking $1,538.36; Gaetano Sarnelli, 55 Piute Trail, Albrightsville, seeking $870.69; Patsy Joseph Lombardi, 794 Stony Mountain Rd., Albrightsville, seeking $2,481.75; and Nicole Prokopovich, 1160 S. Stagecoach Rd., Weatherly, seeking $732.61

• Midland Funding, Eatontown, New Jersey, filed an action against Desiree Kelly, 51 Blue Spruce Rd., Albrightsville, seeking $10,193.73.

Mortgage foreclosures

The following actions were filed as mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on loans.

• Mauch Chunk Trust Company, 1111 North St., Jim Thorpe, filed an action against Andrew Conrad, 75 Gun Club Rd., Lehighton, over property at that address. Sought is $98,087.24 and continuing interest.

• PHH Mortgage Corporation, c/o 1661 Worthington Rd., West Palm Beach, Florida, filed an action against Gina M. and Glenn Sheckler, 2410 Hahns Dairy Rd., Palmerton, over property at that address. Sought is $239,977.31 and continuing interest.

• Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing, c/o 701 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, Maryland, filed an action against Robert W. Mercer, 41 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, over property at that address. Sought is $152,902.90 and continuing interest.

Construction suit

Cedar Valley Post-Frame LLC, 435 W. Washington St., Slatington, filed a civil action against Brian Taschler and Andrew Reis, both of 795 Towamensing Rd., Lehighton, seeking monies allegedly owed on a construction contract.

The suit states on Sept. 13, 2021, the parties entered into a written contract for the construction of a pole building. The price was negotiated and later a new contract was entered due to rising costs associated with the pandemic and new price agreed.

The defendants made payments on the contract as detailed in the suit.

The plaintiff alleges that $41,864.92 is still owed by the defendants for the work done as outlined in the suit. Sought is that amount plus interest, costs and fees

Dog attack

Jeffrey Levan, 125 Fairview St., Lehighton, has filed a civil suit seeking damages against Melodie Bennett Eckhart, 240 Allen St., Lehighton, and Mrs. Zig’s Properties LLC, 432-434 White St., Weissport, over an alleged dog attack. The suit states Eckhart is the owner of Mrs. Zig’s Properties.

The suit states on Oct. 8, 2020, the plaintiff was at 240 Allen St., Lehighton, as an invitee of the defendant when he was viciously attacked by a dog owned by the defendant. The suit alleges the dog was not properly confined.

Negligence is alleged against the defendant for injuries sustained by the plaintiff and detailed in the suit.

Damages in excess of the arbitration limits in the county is sought.

Fall suit

Kristen Jackson, 602 Arlington St., Tamaqua, filed a civil suit seeking damages against DCD Holding LLC, 4589 Ann Elizabeth Court, Walnutport; and DCD Holdings Group, LLC, 3409-B Ainslie St., Philadelphia.

At the time of the incident the defendants were owners of the property at 40 E. Snyder Ave., Lansford.

The suit states on Oct. 2, 2020, the plaintiff was an invitee at the Lansford property and walking on the front porch. When she touched the railing on the porch it gave way and she fell to the ground sustaining serious personal injuries, which are detailed in the suit.

Negligence is alleged against the defendants and sought are damages in excess of $50,000.
