More than $10,000 was raised in this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Mauch Chunk Lake Park, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The walk was this past Saturday and Unforgoettnerables was the top fundraising team, raising more than $4,600. Team captain Maxine Romano started the team to honor all those living with Alzheimer’s disease.
“Around 100 people joined us at Mauch Chunk Lake Park on Saturday to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research,” said Fran Gibbons, senior development director for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter. “We are so grateful for the community support, as well as our committee, volunteers and sponsors, who helped make this year’s event a success. Together, we are making a difference and will continue to fight for a cure.”
Fundraising for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s continues through December 31. Visit act.alz.org/carbon2022 to support a team and the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association.
