Monroe County crashes

State police reported the following crashes in Monroe County:

• State police at Stroudsburg reported investigating a two-vehicle crash at 2:44 p.m. on Sept. 14 along Route 33 in Hamilton Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Nilsa M. Doval, 56, of Saylorsburg, driving a 2019 Subaru Forester, and Duane B. Richmond, 54, of Martville, New York, driving a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia tractor with trailer, were both northbound. Doval was in the right lane and Richmond in the left lane with both traveling side by side.

Doval then traveled into Richmond’s lane of travel directly in front of the tractor and was pushed northbound by the tractor. After impact the tractor traveled into the guard rail striking it.

No injuries were reported. The Forester was towed.

Doval was cited for the crash.

• State police at the Lehighton barracks reported a one-vehicle crash at 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 19 along Rolling Hills Road in Ross Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Nicholas J. Carbajal, 21, of Effort, was driving a 2006 Ford Mustang northbound and lost control of the vehicle on a curve. He entered the southbound lane and then struck an embankment along the berm.

Carbajal was not injured. Troopers cited himfor driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

• State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported investigating a two-vehicle crash on Sept. 17 at 8:52 a.m. at the intersection of McIlhaney Road and Greenview Drive, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

The drivers involved were identified as a 17-year-old male from Stroudsburg, driving a 2014 Nissan Versa, and Brian K. Benoit, 60, of Brodheadsville, driving a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado truck.

The police report states the Nissan struck the Chevrolet. Benoit was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. The teen driver and a 12-year-old boy passenger with Benoit, were not injured.

The teen driver was cited for a stop sign violation.
