A Schuylkill County corrections officer was fired Wednesday. James Preneta, of Shenandoah, was fired by the county Prison Board effective Sept. 14. County commissioners signed off on that termination.

The personnel report listed Brian Eckley, of Pottsville, as being terminated from his job as a clerk typist one in the Recorder of Deeds office, effective Sept. 15.

Resignations included: Kaylee Chyko, Black Creek Township, district justice assistant one effective Sept. 16; and Donna Porter, Port Carbon, accounting technician in Domestic Relations as of Sept. 12.

Hirings included: Lori Connors, Pottsville; Cindy Ferhat, Pottsville, and John Franko, Port Carbon, as judicial attendants at $11.54 an hour as of Sept. 19.

Resignations included: Antonio Ford, Minersville, as a correctional officer as of Sept. 13; Sarah Sheipe, Orwigsburg, from her job as a clerk typist 2 at the Children and Youth Services Agency as of Sept. 9.
