A quick response by Tamaqua firefighters saved several homes in an early morning when fire. The alarm came in around 4:30 a.m. for a working dwelling fire at 31 Swatara St. First responders found the blaze in the attic of the home. The occupants managed to escape the flames. No injuries were reported in the incident.
