Ready for trial, Lansford man enters guilty plea

After spending Monday morning in courtroom 1 of the Carbon County courthouse in Jim Thorpe during jury selection to hear his driving under the influence case, a Lansford man changed his mind and entered a guilty plea.

Christopher Josiah, 34, pleaded to one count of DUI before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II, deciding not to let a jury decide his fate. He was arrested on Aug. 22, 2020, by Lansford police.

Josiah was told by Nanovic that based on his prior record and the charge he was facing a minimum prison term of six months at the time of sentencing.

Nanovic deferred sentencing so Josiah can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Josiah was represented by chief public defender Paul J. Levy. District Attorney Michael S. Greek was the prosecutor.
